Salted Caramel Oatmeal 

As you all now I’m kinda addicted to oatmeal. And I reeeeally reeeally love caramel. Therefore I thought why not maje a combination of both ? 

I tried this recipe very often and used different ways of making but now I can say it is perfect ! So creamy, filling, sweet but also not to heavy. 
I love it to top mine with fresh berries to make a nice contrast or to top it with even more sweet or chocolately stuff to make the sweet treat dessert breakfast even more dessert like. Now matter what toppings you like to add I’m sure it will taste great , as in my opinion this oatmeal is it worth to even eat it without any toppings. But toppings make everything better right 🙂
 

Ingredients:                                       serves 1  

1 cup (100g) oats 

1 cup water 

1 cup dairyfree milk (I use almond)

2 dates 

salt

1 tsp chia seeds (optional)

1 tsp flax seeds (optional)

1 tsp maca powder (optional but I recommend to use some if you’re able to)

toppings of choice
First pit the dates, put them into a small bowl and cover with a little bit of boiling water ( the dates should be covered) mash with a fork and let the dates disolve. Then sprinkel in some salt mix well so you have some salted date paste.

Meanwhile measure your oats and put the milk and water in a stove pot add the date paste and bring to a boil. Once boiling add the oats and return head to low. Stir your oatmeal almost constantly and add the chia and flax seed. Let it simmer until all the liquid is absorbed and the oatmeal is creamy. Add in maca powder and puor the oats into your favourite bowl. Top with your desired toppings and enjoy 🙂
